On October 3, over 200 people enjoyed the pizza dinner and exciting fall fun – corn toss, removing the kernels from corn cobs, cookie decorating, and book bingo.  Students from all ages were spotted laughing and experiencing the Nebraska fall time activities.  Some members of the University of Omaha Band entertained and mesmerized the audience, young and old.

We also enjoyed meeting parents of our ELL parents during the Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences.  We were excited to share the work that your students have completed in class.  Thank you to all those students and parents who attended on October 12th and 16th

Every year, the ELL Level 1 students carve a pumpkin in our class and take home their masterpiece to share with their family.   This year was no different.  Visit our room to see the pictures!

Another cultural event that is happening this month is the ELL After School Program.  We will be going to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch in Gretna.  All ELL students are invited to join the group and participate in our year-long fun activities.  The After School Program helps students form friendship bonds with other ELL students at CMS and crosses over different cultures and grades.  Bastian Derichs, bilingual liason, and I chaperone each event and look forward to an awesome year.
