So far, December has been a very fun month for the ELL students at CMS! On December 1st when we got a few flakes of snow, new students from Columbia, Puerto Rico, Syria, Togo, and the Ivory Coast were jumping up and down in the classroom! Just imagine, they had never seen snow and couldn’t wait to experience the cold weather and fluffy snowflakes. Then, we welcomed two new students, one from Syria and the other from Afghanistan, to the hustle and bustle of the 8th and 6thgrade hallways. Finally, the students in the ELL After School Program will be going on a field trip to the Durham Western Heritage Museum. These cultural trips help our students get the “feel” of being in America and learn about Omaha, too!
